Field of Tension: Circus x Carnival

The Fulda University of Applied Sciences is getting ready to shine, welcoming the Wandercircus for its fourth performance from March 19 to 21, 2025. The circus arena will once again open its doors, inviting 20 new companions from the fields of education, democracy, and sustainability to join this vibrant, polyphonic ensemble. Together, we will delve into the treasure chests of our professional and personal experiences, juggle familiar challenges, and dare to take acrobatic leaps into uncharted realms of thought and action.

Invitation

The ring in Fulda is set—the traveling circus is ready to roll in! At least 20 new circus members will find space for their performances under our tents. Travel and accommodation expenses will once again be covered.

In Fulda, we will gather under the motto “Circus x Carnival.” The Fields of Tension, or “small tents,” from Essen and Göttingen have taken root and aim to further weave their unique perspectives and approaches to education, democracy, and sustainability into the fabric of our work.

The carnival complements the circus: spontaneity must be thoughtfully planned! From the processes of these artistic worlds, we aim to extract dynamic practices that can be applied in real-world contexts of teaching and learning — crafting new qualification frameworks, robust quality standards, and sustainable models for collaborative teaching and learning. We are not in search of easy answers but instead are honing the art of balance: between the familiar and the novel, theory and practice, action and reflection.

If you’d like to join us, send us an email at info@wanderzirkus.org.

Our registration form will be available here soon.

If you’d like to invite someone and need a brief way to explain what the Wandercircus is, here’s a helpful formulation:

The Wandercircus is an open format that connects people who engage with sustainability and democracy in a critical, constructive, and consistent way—whether in schools, universities, or beyond. It brings together individuals from diverse educational settings to share and showcase their skills and initiatives. Unlike traditional workshops and conferences, our primary focus is on fostering open and dynamic exchange.
